OH&S risk management workshops for orchard managersBusiness Management
In the first series of Future Business workshops, attendees will be presented with information about risk and understanding the obligations that come with being a business owner or manager.
Understanding risk can play a major role in protecting a business in times of crisis. Knowing how to plan and manage these risks from a business perspective can help reduce the impact of unexpected events.
These sessions will focus on helping business owners, managers, safety officers and other key staff understand and identify various risks. The importance of maintaining appropriate standards, adhering to compliance and meeting requirements, regulations and OH&S practices and procedures are imperative in general business activities.
The presenters will touch on a range of topics including:
- practical applications that promote ease of reporting and processes
- the key components of risk
- current risks to business
- how to prepare for and mitigate risk
- the responsibility on health and safety
- internal controls
- environmental impacts
- an opportunity in the industry to share risk through the creation of a Discretionary Mutual Fund.
Each session will take a deep dive into the key components of risk, looking at existing business risks and how to mitigate these. There will be an opportunity to explore who owns and controls specific data and information and how financial reporting and strategy play a role in effective management.
