Focus Orchard and trial update: New South Wales

This report summarises the New South Wales Focus Orchard program at the start of 2018. Host orchards were used as practical sites for applied trials, repeated block monitoring and grower discussion around the management factors most likely to improve orchard performance.

The update reflects the Future Orchards® emphasis on measurable change. Regional trial work was designed around questions that could be examined under commercial conditions, with observations tracked over time rather than judged from a single visual impression.

For growers in Batlow, Orange and comparable regions, the report provides a useful record of the priorities being tested and the way advisers structured the on-farm learning process.
