June 2010 | Presented by Ian Armour | Future Orchards® Orchard Walk notes and presentation

This Future Orchards® resource looks back at what the program had achieved by 2010 and considers the direction growers and the industry should take toward 2012 and beyond. It belongs to the period when Future Orchards® was explicitly focused on lifting orchard productivity and using extension, monitoring and international benchmarking to accelerate adoption of improved practices.

The notes and presentation are intended to be read together. They provide a historical view of the program’s achievements, the practical changes being observed in orchards, and the continuing need to convert knowledge into measurable business and production outcomes.

The resource is especially useful for understanding how growers, advisers and program leaders were framing the next phase of orchard improvement at the midpoint of the original Future Orchards® productivity push.
