New funding opportunities are now open for the professional development of women in horticulture and rural industries. 

Leadership Development Scholarships

Women & Leadership Australia and Hort Innovation are making 32 scholarships available to support women who wish to undertake leadership development programs.  

The funding aims to increase gender equity in Australia’s horticulture industry. 

Who can apply?  

Emerging, middle and senior women leaders. 

How much?  

The total funding pool of $170,000 will be allocated to 32 scholarships, which will cover up to 83 per cent of program fees.

Rural Women’s Award

Applications are now open for the long-running AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award.  

This award provides funding grants to support a project, business or program that is already underway.  

Award-winners also gain access to professional development opportunities and training and an alumni network. 

Who can apply? 

Women in rural and emerging industries whose project, business or program aligns to the specified AgriFutures values and categories, and: 

  • Is already up and running, or 
  • Will be live within three months of the application being submitted.

How much? 

One woman from each state will be awarded $15,000. The national winner receives a further $20,000, and the runner up a further $15,000.

Rural Women’s Acceleration Grant

AgriFutures Australia is offering a new bursary program for women in rural industries to undertake professional learning and development.  

Who can apply? 

Women aged 18 and over who require funding support to pursue an idea, cause or vision that will have a positive impact on rural or emerging industries, businesses and/or communities. 

These are offered as a separate bursary program to the Rural Women’s Award, and are aimed at applicants who require further development of their project before applying for the Award.  

How much? 

Each bursary is worth $7,000. There are seven bursaries in total.
