New Export Market Development Grants now openExport & Market Access
Changes to Austrade’s Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) program will allow businesses to transition into exporting more easily.
The change in model from reimbursements to grant allocation means that applicants will know up-front how much funding they will receive. This will allow them to plan ahead for successful export development and promotional activities.
Grant applications are now open.
Applications close 5pm AEDT on 30 November 2021.
What does the grant cover?
The grant covers promotional activities undertaken from 1 July 2021.
There are three tiers of grants, depending on the stage of export readiness.
Tier 1 is for first-time exporters, with a grant period of 2 years and up to $40,000 in funding for each financial year.
Tier 2 is for exporters looking to expand promotional activities, with a grant period of 3 years and up to $80,000 in funding for each financial year.
Tier 3 is for exporters looking to expand to new markets or customer group, with a grant period of 3 years and up to $150,000 in funding for each financial year.
