Info session on U.S. imports held
The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) yesterday held an information session for growers and stakeholders to outline key aspects of the Draft report for the review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh apple fruit from the Pacific Northwest states of the US and the process for growers and industry to provide their feedback.
With members of APAL and the Australian apple and pear industry present, the Department ran through the risk analyses process, including the current U.S. risk analyses. APAL and other growers then had the opportunity to clarify and comment on the report and process, and ask questions.

The draft report is also publicly available. The public consultation period for this report closes on January 21, with all stakeholders invited to submit comments on the draft report by then. Feedback on the report can be made by a group or individuals here.
