Federal Government inquiry into practices through supply chains

Industry Advocacy

Growers are invited to make contributions to a Federal Government-led inquiry into the supply chain.

On 26 August it was announced that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC ) would be launching an inquiry into bargaining power in supply chains for perishable agricultural products in Australia.

The inquiry, initiated by the Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and the Agriculture Minister David Littleproud, will take a look at trading practices throughout supply chains, including the relationships between farmers, processors and retailers.

APAL has been invited to make a submission into the inquiry – growers are welcome to contribute and should contact Jeremy Griffith on [email protected] to make a comment.
