2026 Future Orchards Spring Series – Western Australia

Future Orchards®

Join us this November for the APAL Future Orchards® Spring Orchard Walks.

Date: Wednesday, 18 November 2026
Time: 2:00 pm AWST
Location: Murray and Dean Collins, corner of Greys Road and Vasse Highway, Pemberton, WA

The format of this Orchard Walk will be an interactive ‘walk and talk’ session led by the local Front Line Advisor (FLA), providing growers with an opportunity to engage in practical, on-farm discussions and share experiences with industry experts and fellow growers.

The key focus of the event will be irrigation efficiency and scheduling, exploring opportunities to optimise water use, improve irrigation management practices and support orchard productivity. Discussions will centre on practical strategies growers can implement within their own operations, including the use of technology, data and informed decision-making to improve water-use efficiency.

To provide additional technical expertise and industry insights, Dylan Starkie from Farmlink Rural and Ivor Gaylard from SWAN Systems have been invited to participate in the walk. Their involvement will provide an opportunity to explore irrigation management solutions, discuss current challenges faced by growers and highlight tools and technologies available to support more effective irrigation scheduling.

The informal and interactive format will encourage open discussion, knowledge sharing and practical demonstrations, ensuring growers leave with relevant insights and actionable strategies they can apply within their own orchards.
