Focus Orchard trial update: New South Wales

October 2018 | Nic Finger, AgFirst | Future Orchards® Focus Orchard trial update

This October 2018 update reports on the New South Wales Focus Orchard program. It provides a regional snapshot of Focus Orchard monitoring and trial activity in the period before the 2019 Batlow and Orange updates.

The Focus Orchard approach combined participating growers, local advisers and AgFirst support with block data collected through OrchardNet®. Regional trials were selected to address practical questions that could be demonstrated and discussed with other growers through Future Orchards® extension activities.

The document is useful for following the continuity of the NSW Focus Orchard program from 2018 into the later Batlow and Orange updates and for understanding how regional trial work was integrated with commercial orchard performance monitoring.
