June 2013 | Presented by AgFirst | Future Orchards® webinar

This Future Orchards® tutorial provides a practical introduction to OrchardNet®, the online database used by apple and pear growers to record orchard information, track performance and compare results over time.

OrchardNet brings together production, monitoring and financial metrics at block level. The system can store orchard history, provide current business updates and support forecasts as growers revise production estimates through the season.

Benchmarking is a major part of the tool. Growers can compare results year by year, block by block or between companies, helping identify which areas of the orchard are performing strongly and where management attention may be required.

The tutorial is designed to help growers move from simply collecting data to using it in decisions. The value of OrchardNet increases when information is entered consistently and reviewed with managers, advisers, packhouses or marketers as part of regular orchard planning.
