Dr Ian Goodwin (Research Leader, Ag Vic) and Dr Alessio Scalisi (Senior Technical Officer, Ag Vic) give an update on the PIPS3 AP19003 Advancing sustainable and technology driven apple orchard production systems project at the Tatura SmartFarm.

In this video, they’ll take us through how they’ve been testing the Green Atlas Cartographer to detect and count flower and fruitlets as well as measure tree size, and how the data can be used for apple growing management – specifically thinning.

Hear how they’ve been putting Cartographer to work in the Sundial Orchard, and why ‘tree geometry’ could support improved orchard management and achieving optimal crop load.
