Young Members’ Network

What do we provide?

The Young Members’ Network is shaped by its members – we will deliver the programs and opportunities you want to see. These may include:

• A like-minded network you can turn to for support and ideas
• Forums and events at a regional and national level, targeted at young
  members
• Opportunity to participate in bi-annual  overseas study tours
• Opportunity to access scholarships and publish technical papers
• Guidance and advice from APAL Directors or other senior industry mentors
• Invitations to member-only social events
• Support for members to apply for industry positions, e.g. references for state associations and research positions

Young Members’ Leadership Team

To establish the Network, and clarify its objectives and priorities, an inaugural meeting of 17 young growers and researchers was held in Melbourne at the APAL Industry Forum 2019. Attendees were selected on the basis of nomination by State Association Heads and final selection by APAL, including at least one APAL Director. In addition to hearing what’s on the mind of experienced industry players, Young Members were treated to a leadership dinner with Citrus Australia’s Chairman, Ben Cant, urging them to collaborate and learn from each other.
