Post-harvest Seminar 2020 kicks off

Around eighty growers and industry members have turned out at the Woolshed in Shepparton for APAL’s Post-harvest Seminar. While once a minor event, popularity in recent years has lead to the seminar becoming an annual meeting of growers in the middle of the season to discuss Post-harvest techniques for the coming year. This year there is an over-arching theme of quality and integrity of imports.

The event kicked off with Gavin Ger from Laava, speaking about leveraging technology to build trust.

Pomewest’s Nardia Stacy followed up with a discussion of the lessons learnt from the Pomewest quality and maturity testing program.

APAL’s Andrew Mandemaker moderated a panel Director Chris Fairless and Newton Orchards owner Harvey Giblett joined to discuss how to manage fruit quality for domestic retail.
