New funding opportunities for agriculture, research & leadership


A number of new funding and scholarship opportunities are now open for Australian primary producers and women in Farming and Agriculture and in STEM fields. 


2022 Nuffield Scholarships 

Nuffield Scholarships aim to build capacity in agriculture by connecting producers with innovative businesses and global opportunities, pursuing valuable research to meet new industry challenges. 

Who can apply?

Australian residents between 28-45 years of age (exceptional candidates outside this age range will be considered) engaged in farming, horticulture, fishing or associated industries who intend to remain involved in food and fibre industries in Australia.

How much funding?

Up to 20 scholarships valued at $30,000 each.

Applications close 6 August, 2021. 


Women & Leadership Australia (WLA) 

WLA are currently seeking scholarship expressions of interest from women at various stages in their Farming and Agriculture Sector careers who wish to develop in their leadership roles. 

Who can apply?

The programs are designed for women with limited leadership experience through to executive leaders

How much funding?

  • Early career managers can apply for a scholarship of $1,000 towards the Leading Edge Program See course details here 
  • Mid-level managers can apply for a scholarship of $3,000 towards the Executive Ready Program See course details here 
  • Senior and executive leaders can apply for a scholarship of $5,000 towards the Advanced Leadership Program See course details here

When do applications close?

Expressions of interest are open until the end of June, 2021, unless funds are allocated earlier. 


Veski career recovery grants 

The veski inspiring women recovery grants provide short-term funding to counteract the negative impacts of COVID-19 on female STEM researchers in Victoria, boosting research output and giving them a competitive edge in further grant applications. 

Who can apply?

Mid-career leaders or emerging leaders in STEM in Victoria whose research has been impacted by has increased care duties and reduced work hours during COVID-19. 

How much funding?

12 months funding, up to $50,000
