James Castrission
James Castrission is an esteemed Australian explorer who has achieved remarkable feats of endurance and perseverance. He is set to deliver a powerful keynote at the 2023 APAL Industry Forum, where he will share lessons he learnt from his polar expedition across the Antarctic and his record-breaking kayak journey across the Tasman Sea.
In 2012, James and his best mate, Jonesy, made history by completing the longest unsupported polar expedition of all time, walking from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back without assistance. They braved the harshest environment on Earth, skiing 2275km with everything they needed to survive, enduring extreme physical and mental challenges.
Four years earlier, James and Jonesy paddled 3318km without assistance across the Tasman Sea, becoming the first kayakers to cross the Tasman Sea and the longest transoceanic double kayak expedition. They faced howling winds, adverse winds and currents, severe food and sleep deprivation, and 10-meter swells, arriving in New Zealand sunburnt, underweight, bearded, and physically and mentally exhausted.
James’s incredible adventures and his ability to overcome immense challenges make him an inspiring and captivating speaker. His keynote at the 2023 APAL Industry Forum is sure to be a memorable and motivating experience for attendees.
Register for the APAL Industry Forum today and secure your place to witness James’s presentation and hear from a range of other speakers at Zinc in Melbourne on Friday, 2 June 2023.
