APAL appointment to enhance industry decision making

hui dang data scientist

APAL is pleased to welcome Hui Dang to the team in the role of Data Scientist.

Her main role will be to manage, collect, and analyse data across the full spectrum of the apple and pear industry, including the analysis of data sets and the identification of patterns and trends. She will also be involved in data analysis for the global Pink Lady® licensee network, the benefits of which will be the ability for growers to make enhanced sales and marketing decisions.

A key part of her role will also be handling export market data, including in-market analysis. Hui will also review and report relevant data for global imports and exports as required from the Global Trade Atlas. With this knowledge, APAL will be able to assist growers seeking to export their products in making reasoned and informed decisions based on data.

Hui grew up in Malaysia in Borneo and comes from a background in data collection for market and social research. She is an avid pear fan, especially Nashi pears, and looks forward to crunching the numbers as well.
