Apple and Pear Industry Training program

4UpSkilling has designed, with industry consultation, a horticulture training program designed for staff working in the Apple and Pear industry. It is due to start on the 18 September 2018 and will run through 2019.

In recent years, the Victorian apple and pear industry has undergone significant changes, creating a need to develop and enhance the technical skills and knowledge of key industry personal. The course is a nationally accredited AHC40416 Certificate IV in Horticulture program, specifically for apple and pear industry supervisors and orchard staff.

The program will be delivered as a combination of face to face theoretical sessions in the classroom and practical sessions at various field sites. The course will be delivered by one 2 day workshop per month and sessions will run from 9.30am to 4.00pm.

  • Project and Risk Management
  • Agribusiness Operations and Finance
  • Pest and Disease Control
  • Chemical Use and Application
  • Soils, Plant Nutrition, and Irrigation
  • Quality Assurance and Crop Regulation
  • Environmentally Sustainable Work Practices
