APAL Forum 2020 cancelled as COVID-19 restrictions ramped up

APAL regrets to advise that the annual APAL Industry Forum 2020 scheduled for June has now been cancelled, due to restrictions imposed to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Following the Australian Government’s decision today to ban indoor events of 100 or more people for at least six months, it is not possible to run the event as originally intended. APAL is exploring ways of delivering the key components of the forum in different methods, potentially through online modules.

The annual APAL Awards for Excellence will still be conducted, with the winners announced in the Winter AFG magazine.

The next forum is expected to run in June 2021.

“COVID-19 has had a significant impact on most industries, and ours is no exception,” APAL CEO Phil Turnbull said.

“The forum is an important industry event, and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2021.”

Future Business Workshops replaced by webinars

Next week’s Future Business workshops in Western Australia and South Australia have been replaced by webinars. The sessions will still run on the same time and date as previously planned, but participants will need to sign up via a weblink which will be communicated shortly.

Those who have not yet registered for the sessions are still able to participate.
